Understanding Your Life Path Number: A Numerology Guide

Feb 15, 2025

What is a Life Path Number?

In numerology, your Life Path Number is considered the most significant number in your chart. It represents the core purpose of your life — the path you'll walk, the lessons you'll learn, and the person you're meant to become.

Think of it as your life's GPS coordinate.

How to Calculate Your Life Path Number

Add together the digits of your full birth date (month, day, and year), reducing to a single digit at each step:

Example: March 15, 1990

  • Month: 3
  • Day: 15 → 1 + 5 = 6
  • Year: 1990 → 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19 → 1 + 9 = 10 → 1 + 0 = 1
  • Total: 3 + 6 + 1 = 10 → 1 + 0 = 1

So the Life Path Number is 1.

Master numbers 11, 22, and 33 are not reduced further. If your calculation leads to one of these, you have a Master Number Life Path.
